COME TO THE GREAT BEAUTIFUL, WILD AND WONDERFUL SANTEE COOPER COUNTRY WHERE YOU WILL HAVE A EXCELLENT CHANCE OF CATCHING THE LARGEST CATFISH OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!

In October 1948 my father opened a boat landing on the Santee Cooper Lakes. I was twelve years old and started paddling bass fisherman around the lake. They hadn’t invented the trolling motor yet! I did this all through high school and then joined the U.S. Navy. After the navy I returned to the area and became a full time guide in 1960.

At that time stripers were the big fish here. In 1964 South Carolina traded Arkansas some fingerling stripers for some catfish. The Flathead and Arkansas blues were stocked and have done quite well here. Over the next twenty years the catfish population exploded and I began guiding exclusively for catfish in 1990.

The Santee area lakes are one of the premier catfish lakes in the country. It is not unusual to catch 25 or more fish a day weighing from 3 to 25 pounds. Our blues typically run 5 to 20 pounds but often we catch them in the 30 to 80 pound range.

If you are interested in coming to the lake just call me on my 800 number or email me. If you just have some questions feel free to contact me.
